Our Metal Finishes

Acid Washed Brass

Our acid washed brass hardware has been designed to patina and evolve over time. These solid brass pieces have been given an acid wash treatment so they will beautifully age but at a much slower rate to raw brass hardware. The areas of these pieces that are touched will stay lighter, whilst the areas that aren’t will become darker. This is due to oxidising with the natural atmosphere over the years of exposure. Due to this kind of treatment, these pieces can be used in exterior as well as salty areas, which will only further deepen the antique brass look.

Satin Nickel

Although Satin nickel rose in popularity alongside Victorian and Mid-Century ‘modern design’ movements, it has become increasingly popular in the last few years. With brushed silver hues and a warm tone, satin nickel hardware is very common in contemporary homes. This finish looks particularly stylish amongst bright colours and edgy, unconventional furniture.
Satin nickel is classy, understated and easy to coordinate with your kitchen and bathroom tapware.

    Scorched Black

To obtain this charcoal black look, this hardware has been put in a furnace and burnt. The brass then takes on the mottled scorched black look, which will also age over time. With use the brass undertones will slowly come through where it is touched the most, giving you a unique living finish. Due to this kind of treatment, these pieces can be used in exterior as well as salty areas, which will only deepen the scorched brass look.

    Polished Nickel

Polished nickel (sometimes called ‘bright nickel’) is a classic, glossy finish that looks beautiful in traditional and modern homes. Nickel is similar to polished chrome, however it has a warmer tone that looks particularly beautiful with period-style tapware.

Nickel is hard wearing and durable and will coordinate effortlessly with other polished nickel design elements like showers, tapware, handrails and lighting. Polished nickel hardware looks beautiful on cream-coloured cabinets and wardrobes, as they complement nickel’s warm tones.

    Antique Bronze

Our Antique Bronze colour is a mottled matte chocolate brown. It’s a living finish that has been hand aged and will patina over time. The areas of these pieces that are touched will generally hold their original colour, whilst the areas that aren’t will become darker. This is due to oxidising with the natural atmosphere over the years of exposure. Due to this kind of treatment, these pieces can be used in exterior as well as salty areas, which will only further deepen the antique bronze look.
